The Practice Group showcases innovative new approaches to patient care at the Best Practice Show

One of the largest independent NHS providers of primary and community outpatient care discusses how it is improving patient care through new approaches to technology, staffing models and data analytics

Best Practice Show: Stand F74

Improvements in patient care through innovative breakthrough technology, staffing models and data analytics will be spotlighted by The Practice Group at the Best Practice Show on 19th and 20th October at the NEC in Birmingham.

Recognising that different areas have diverse requirements, The Practice Group has created models around crucial elements including clinical patient pathways, operational and staffing departments. The enhanced services include:

  • Creating designated care coordinators within each surgery, to provide holistic care to patients by signposting them to local support groups, exercise classes and social care programmes dependent on their needs;
  • Addressing capacity issues within Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) Hospital Eye department by launching a Community Ophthalmology Service in the area. This is helping to move patients from referral to treated within the specified 18 weeks;
  • Developing a new data analytics solution enabling individual surgeries to identify trends and issues occurring within their areas so that action can be taken on aspects of patient care where improvements are possible.

Allan Johnson, CEO of The Practice Group, explains: “We are continually working with both the NHS and our practices by developing and deploying new initiatives in primary and community care, all with the aim of delivering the best possible care to patients. At this year’s Best Practice Show, we will be discussing and demonstrating these, as well as looking ahead to what we will be working on in 2017.
