The Practice Group nominated for two Nursing Times Workforce Awards

The Practice Group, who design and deliver innovative approaches to primary care across England, has been nominated as a finalist for two Nursing Times Workforce Awards.

Having received entries from almost 100 organisations, the first ever Nursing Times Workforce Awards identify and celebrate the outstanding achievements of employers in their support of the nursing and midwifery workforce.

The Practice Group has been shortlisted in two categories: ‘Best Workplace for Learning and Development (up to 1,500 nursing staff)’ and the ‘Workforce Team of the Year’.

Both nominations are in recognition of the fantastic work they have undertaken in investing in their nurses to improve employee satisfaction with the introduction of additional training, structured career pathway opportunities and areas of specialist development. These endeavours have increased patient satisfaction to a huge 98%.

Janet Sutton, Head of Nursing at The Practice Group, commented:

‘’We’re thrilled to be nominated for not one, but two Nursing Times Workforce Awards. These awards recognise the great achievements in support of the nursing and midwifery workforce.

‘’It was, and always will be, hugely important to invest in our nurses to improve morale and career development, while offering a great deal of support when making changes to a well-established workforce pattern. By improving the education, training and internal clinical support for our nurses, we have increased employee satisfaction within our nursing team and improved access for patients.’’

The Nursing Times Workforce Award ceremony will take place on Thursday 4th October 2018 at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, London. The awards will run alongside the inaugural Workforce Summit, which provides a national forum for those responsible for planning, recruitment and retention for the health and care workforce.
