Broughton Gate Health Centre moves to the highly anticipated Brooklands Health Centre

The Practice Group is delighted to be moving into the Brooklands Health Centre in the Eastern Expansion Area of Milton Keynes; this exciting new facility has been built by Milton Keynes Council to increase access to primary care for the residents of Eastern Milton Keynes.

The new health facility, a large, three-storey building, is set to be a much-needed addition to the Milton Keynes community. It will introduce the largest GP facility in the city – alongside a pharmacy, a chiropractor and dental services – and can cater for a patient list of up to 22,500. This state-of-the-art health centre has received multi-millions of pounds of investment from Milton Keynes’s council.

Brooklands Health Centre will be run by The Practice Group, who currently run the Broughton Gate Health Centre half a mile away, operating under a contract with NHS Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group. The GP surgery opening hours will remain as Monday to Sunday 8am – 8pm and the team who deliver primary care within the surgery will not be changing.

The new surgery will open on Monday 10 September. Appointments at the Broughton Gate Health Centre will cease at 8pm, Wednesday 5 September. Should a patient need to be seen by Broughton Gate Health Centre clinicians between 8am on Thursday 6th September and 8pm on Sunday 9th September, they are able to be seen within The Kingfisher Surgery, located on Elthorne Way, Newport Pagnell, MK16 0JR. The Kingfisher Surgery is a ten-minute drive (4.3 miles) from Broughton Gate Health Centre and is also accessible via bus routes 2 (Arriva), C10 (University Bus) and 24 (Red Rose Travel). Onsite parking is available, and their website is kingfishersurgery.org.uk/

Dr Ajit Kadirgamar, Chief Medical Officer for The Practice Group, commented:

“We are delighted to be able to move Broughton Gate Health Centre from its current location to the newly built facility. The new surgery will allow us to offer more services to our patients and they’ll also have the added benefit of being able to access other primary care services from the same building as their GP Surgery.”

Current patients do not need to register at the Brooklands Health Centre or de-register with Broughton Gate. The service they receive from Broughton Gate Health Centre, including all team members and opening hours and contact number, 01908 874 444, will be moving to Brooklands.

The official unveiling of this new health facility will take place at on Wednesday 29th August 2018 at Brooklands Health Centre, Countess Way, Milton Keynes before opening in September 2018.
